a guided bird walk at 11 if anyone is interested.
open weekends: 10 -4 all through may 2009. weekdays: please just email or phone 5155 7277 to be sure.
and we’d still love more textile twitters. download the free pattern to print . make one. bring it to nowa nowa. or post it to us at: twitter. po box 26. nowa nowa 3887
but be warned. this is not your regular style of exhibition. our plan is to use existing spaces for interesting ideas. so don’t expect a gallery experience. in fact. you should try to plan a walk around lake tyers and along the nowa nowa gorge while you are here. thats where the real birds are. ours is just the icing on the cake. so come for a walk. bring a thermos. wear your walking shoes. and enjoy. here’s a sample of what’s on show at the nowa nowa art home.
twitters made by textilers
these tweets have been sent to us from all over the place. some arrived anonymously. some were school projects. (thanks swifts creek!). some were done by sewing groups (thanks lakes entrance!). some were done by grandmas with grandkids (thanks sue, grace & rose and jenny, indigo and hannah), some were done by individual sew-ers (tammi, jan) and some by extroverts (thanks rita!) some were done by family and some by strangers. one flew in from tassie. i am in the process of identifying the other species. anyway. you get the idea. all are best admired up close, in the aviary.
bird-ish art to covet
twitters made by tafe
these tweets have all been made by students of East Gippsland TAFE’s Visual Arts Department as part of their course. they are divine. and fun.
you can read the students’ briefs: apply techniques to produce sculpture. interpret & respond to a brief.
